The School of the Cathedral was designated a National Blue Ribbon School in October of 2014 by the U.S. Department of Education. This is the highest academic honor that a school can receive. It is awarded based on academic excellence evidenced by student achievement measures and a researched-based indicator of school quality.
Yearly only 417 schools are recognized across the United States with “Blue Ribbon” designation with only 50 of those being private or independent schools. Of the 69 schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, only 12 have received this honor of recognition by our nation.
