Curriculum

Academic excellence is a guiding principle at the School of the Cathedral. Our goal is to build an intellectual foundation, and prepare your child for a lifetime of learning. Cathedral believes in the value of the education of the total child, grounded in values and centered on educational excellence.

Named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Cathedral is consistently ranked among the top 15% of all private, parochial and charter schools in the nation.

The Cathedral curriculum includes Mathematics, Language Arts, Modern Languages, Social Studies, Religion, Art, and Physical Education. The integration of technology into the academic program provides an innovative opportunity to reinforce classroom concepts.

Cathedral implements a core curriculum and course of study developed in alignment with the national and Archdiocese of Baltimore standards. Cathedral’s curriculum is continually reviewed and modified to ensure that it is rigorous, by meeting and exceeding these standards, thus preparing students for high school, college and future success.

Our rigorous curriculum is a longstanding hallmark of a Cathedral education. In this spirit, our faculty and students are constantly embracing new endeavors and exceeding expectations.

Achievements

Cathedral students continually place in the high school of their choices each year, and are awarded prestigious academic scholarships and honors, such as the Knott Scholarship.
