A Thanksgiving message from Principal Wright

You made it! It is amazing that we are already in November and the Thanksgiving break is already upon us.

Today, we held the Turkey Trot. We would like to thank Mrs. Kelly and all of the parents who volunteered to make this event a success. The students had a great time cheering, running and even playing drums!

Next Tuesday, the School of the Cathedral will take part in#GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely-recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. This year we ask that you help support the school’s annual fund by participating in #GivingTuesday. Those that do participate will be entered in a chance to win a “swag bag” from the Mustang Market! Stay tuned for more information next week on how to participate in the exciting global movement!

I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving holiday and pray that you get to spend some time with friends and family and recharge before we enter the Advent season.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Gracious God,
As we gather together around this Thanksgiving table may we be ever mindful of your blessings.

For abundant food and the gift of family, we give you thanks.
For those whose hands brought this food to our table, we give you thanks.
For those who are giving of their time and resources to feed the poor and homeless today, we give you thanks.

May our celebration of Thanksgiving be a reminder of the abundance of your love given to us freely each day. Open our eyes to the surprises held in each moment.

With the deepest gratitude, we pray.
Amen.

Peace,
Michael Wright
