Notes from the Principal's Desk: Camp Auction, State of the School, and more

We would like to thank all of the families who participated in the Camp Auction for the Cathedral Ball. Below is the list of families who were successful in placing the winning bids during the auction. We thank you for your generous bidding and support of the school.

Allen, Ashby, Barton, Baummer, Belbot, Bouyea, Burch, Diehlmann, Douglas, Fritz, Lancaster, Halloran, Green, Gunkel, Kelly, Lineberger, Lombardi, McMullan, Melancon, Murphy, Nicole, Nicolini, O'Neil, Pulcinella, Rose, Sweeney.

On Thursday, the school is planning to hold an evacuation drill as a part of the school’s emergency response plan preparation. This drill is a make-up drill from last week when we experienced a delayed opening on Friday.

In a continuing effort to improve communication, this week I will be sharing a State of the School address in video format. The objective of using this video format is to allow everyone in the community an opportunity to hear the presentations without having to take time out of one’s busy schedule. There will be an opportunity to ask questions or leave comments after viewing the video. We anticipate having a second communication addressing the questions and comments. The link to the video will be shared in a separate email later this week.

Finally, we would like to share some news about Mrs. Kelly, our Director of Alumni Relations and Middle School Special Projects. Mrs. Kelly has accepted a faculty position at Boys' Latin for next year. Below, Mrs. Kelly shares her announcement.

To my dear Cathedral Community,
These past few weeks have been part of a difficult decision in my career. I have decided to follow my passion back to the classroom next year at Boys’ Latin School. I will miss you all so much and have loved every day here working with the students and faculty. I'm not going far, and I'm still a Cathedral school parent and parishioner. I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I've been fortunate enough to have at Cathedral.
Thank you so much,
Ginna Kelly

We are sincerely happy for Mrs. Kelly and her family, and we are grateful for her service at The School of the Cathedral.

Finally, be sure to mark your calendars! The Middle School production of Godspell, Jr. will be on March 29 (7pm), 30 (7pm), and 31 (3pm). The Middle School students have been working hard, and the performance is sure to be spectacular. Dress Circle tickets go on sale next week, and General Admission tickets go on sale the following week. See you at the show!

God Bless,
Michael Wright
