Notes from the Principal's Desk: Coffee and Conversation, Middle School Musical auditions, Open House, and more

Today and Friday, I have the opportunity to be on the Archdiocese of Baltimore Department of Catholic Schools Principals’ retreat.  This time encourages us to reflect on our relationship with Jesus and the gifts of the spirit is valuable as we endeavor to lead our Catholic schools.  I ask for the Cathedral community to pray for all of the Archdiocesan Principals today and tomorrow.

This week we held our first Coffee and Conversation with the 5th grade parents.  I hope it was a valuable experience for those who attended. I encourage any 5th grade parents to attend our next Coffee and Conversation on Tuesday, November 19 at 8:15am.

This weekend, our parish is celebrating Homecoming weekend.  Tomorrow, K-5 Kids’ Night Out will begin at 6pm, and the Middle School Mixer will begin at 7pm. Sunday, donuts and waffles will be available after every Liturgy. Tomorrow is also the first Spirit Wear Day of this school year, so make sure to wear your Cathedral clothes tomorrow! Anything with “Cathedral” on it is permitted.

As we look forward to next week, don’t forget that Monday is a Chick-fil-A day, as well as auditions for the Middle School Musical, Madagascar, Jr.  Tuesday, we hold our second Open House. We ask that if you know of any families looking at schools for next year to please let them know about our Open House this Tuesday, 11/12, from 8:30am to 11:30am.  This Open House is also an excellent chance for parents of students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade to learn more about the good things happening in our middle school. A special bonus is that the Mustang Market will also be open on Tuesday at 7:30 AM - a perfect time to stock up for Christmas and for the next Spirit Wear Days (we have them monthly)! The Middle School Musical auditions continue on Wednesday at 3 PM.  Thursday, we will have our weekly Liturgy and Friday, Hearing and Vision Screenings will be held at 9:00 AM.

God bless,
Michael Wright
