Pre-K 4 Junior Kindergarten

We are pleased to announce that Cathedral will be opening a full-day preschool option for children who are 4 years old by September 1, 2022.  We are giving our current families the first opportunity to apply.  The class is limited to 20 students and it is first come first serve.  The Pre-K 4 application is currently live on our website. We are excited to bring in our JK Colts! If you have any questions please contact Gina McGee.

Step Up to Middle School

We have postponed Step Up to Middle School, originally scheduled for October 14th to November 3rd. We want to ensure the program offers an enjoyable experience, including gifting the students with special Cathedral swag.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, November 17th this year and will be in-person. In addition, a Sign-Up Genius sheet will go out to families. In grades, K-5 parents and guardians will meet with the child’s homeroom teacher. In Middle School, the format will be a Student-Led Conference so that students may share their work in all subjects with their parents/guardians, and the student’s homeroom teacher will act as an advisor and moderator during the conference.

Tik Tok Challenge

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on schools, it’s been difficult for most students to have a normal school year. Social Media has been one way students have tried to stay connected. Unfortunately, some schools across the nation, including Cathedral, have encountered issues with a list of challenges for students now floating on Tik Tok. These challenges ask students to accomplish different tasks each month throughout the school year.

In September, the challenge was to vandalize school bathrooms. Thankfully, we did not see some of the destruction that other schools have experienced. But, shockingly, October’s challenge is to “Smack a staff member.” These challenges go against school policy and our call as Catholics to treat all people with dignity and respect.

I share this information with you so that parents and guardians can have discussions with their children about the dangers of engaging in these challenges and the negative impact doing so could have on their academic careers.

You can learn more about these challenges by visiting this article:
