Notes from the Principal's Desk: June 12, 2018

Greetings Cathedral Community!

I am excited to share the last weekly Notes from the Principal Desk for the 2017-2018 school year. The end of the year always brings some staffing updates, and I would like to take a moment to share these changes with you today.

We have some dedicated faculty and staff who will be moving on next year to pursue various endeavors. As you are aware, Mrs. Rachel Mejibovsky is leaving Cathedral in order to spend more time with her family while making a return to a classroom teaching position. We bid a fond farewell to Ms. Meredith Lynn, kindergarten teaching assistant, who is leaving us to pursue school full-time next year. We are also grateful for Mrs. Sarah McKittrick's service this year and wish her the best of luck in the future. We would like to say thank you to Mrs. Stephanie Jones for all of her help in the admissions department and will pray for her continued success in her future endeavors.

We also have some faculty accepting different roles or switching grade positions next year:

  • Mrs. Harrington will be teaching fourth grade next year.
  • Mrs. Connor will be teaching second grade next year.
  • Mrs. Lemon has accepted the curriculum coordinator/instructional coach position for next school year. Mrs. Lemon will not have a homeroom, but instead will have a reduced class load in order to spend more time in classrooms, working with teachers on improving instructional practices and implementing curriculum.
  • Mr. Miller will be returning to middle school as a 7th grade homeroom teacher.
  • Sr. Mary Catherine will be moving to a kindergarten teacher assistant position, working with Mrs. Rudolphi.
  • Mrs. Calwell will be working with Mrs. Pendergast in Kindergarten.
  • Mr. Seda will be a 5th grade homeroom teacher and continue teaching Spanish.
  • Miss Bergin has accepted the CED Aftercare Director position.
  • Mrs. (Monachino) Czarnecki has accepted the Lower School Dean position.

We would also like to welcome some new faculty next year:

  • Ms. Peyton Courtney - 5th grade homeroom teacher
  • Ms. April Ann Marshall - art
  • Mrs. Angela Barton - 6th grade homeroom teacher

As much as we are ready to bring this school year to a conclusion, we are excited for the 2018-2019 school year and the possibilities it has to offer.
