Notes from the Principal's Desk: Gym Uniform, Cathedral Golf Open, Halloween Parade, Thanksgiving Collection and more!

It has been an exciting week at school, with the cooler weather rolling in and the afternoons remaining warm. Today we had a dress-down day to help kick off the Back to the Ball Cathedral Ball that cumulated in an energetic dismissal! Tomorrow, we have an Annual Fund Out of Uniform day for those who have contributed to the Annual Fund this month. We recognize that some students may feel left out if their parents have not donated to the annual fund. Please note that any amount donated to the annual fund, even $1, counts as a contribution and will afford your child the opportunity to dress down on the Annual Fund Dress Down days.

Reminder about Gym Uniform

We understand that some items may be on backorder from Lands End, but we would like to remind everyone about the gym uniform. All boys and girls should wear the blue or green Cathedral or performance T-shirt, navy Cathedral gym shorts (K and PF students do not need Cathedral gym shorts), and blue Cathedral sweats. In addition, students should wear white or black crew socks and athletic shoes, any color, with laces or Velcro (no slip-ons or backless shoes).

Cathedral Golf Open

On Monday, October 25, we will hold our annual Cathedral Golf Open. All proceeds benefit Cathedral's "Endowment Fund for Catholic Education," which provides financial support to the school for scholarships and ‎capital improvements.

Halloween Parade & 11:50 AM Dismissal

Next week also finds the school celebrating Halloween. On Friday the 29th, we have a half-day with dismissal at 11:50 AM. At around 8 AM, we will have a Halloween parade in the school circle. Students are permitted to dress in orange, yellow, and black or wear their Halloween costumes. Please remember that face masks of any kind are not allowed. We ask that the older students be mindful of overly scary or gory costumes as they scare the younger students. Students should also wear athletic shoes as there will be a morning recess and PE class.

Thanksgiving Collection

On Monday, November 1st, we will begin our Thanksgiving collection. Please be on the lookout for future communications regarding the collection to support those in need.

God Bless,
Dr. Michael Wright
