Notes from the Principal's Desk: Open House, Island Ball, and more

It is amazing how quickly the end of the school year is approaching. When we return from Easter break, there will only be thirty-one school days left before the end of school!

As we enter Holy Week next week, I’d like to share a few reminders. On Monday, students in grades K-7 will take their class pictures. All picture order envelopes are due into the office before class picture day. Tuesday, our 6th grade students head to River Valley Ranch for their annual retreat. You can follow the activities on the retreat by following @scmoq2021 on Instagram.

Tuesday is also our spring Open House from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM. On Thursday, we welcome the return of the sixth grade from the retreat. Remember, there is no school Mass on Thursday and that we have an early dismissal at 11:45 AM. CED is closed that day.

After Easter break, the eighth grade will have their individual picture day on Tuesday, April 30th. We have a school assembly on Wednesday 5/1, the school Liturgy on Thursday 5/2, and no school on Friday, 5/3 as the faculty and staff will be in professional development. This time will be used to review the Iowa standardized testing data and conduct professional development within the English Department.

The Cathedral Ball is quickly approaching and I encourage everyone to purchase a ticket and attend The Island Ball on Saturday, May 4th at the L’Hirondelle Club in Ruxton! Purchase tickets here. As the biggest and most impactful fundraiser for the school, this event is crucial to help us fulfill our mission to foster our students’ spiritual strength in the Catholic faith and to challenge them to achieve academic excellence.

God Bless,
Michael Wright
