Notes from the Principal's Desk: Re-registration, Christmas events, and reminders

As the end of the year quickly comes to a close, we wanted to offer some reminders to the community. One reminder is about drop-off and pick-up procedures. When dropping off students in the morning, it is best to follow the arrival procedures to ensure a smooth process and maintain the safety of everyone arriving at school. Vehicles should not be using Amberly Way as an entrance and cut in front of the Cathedral as a way to bypass the carline in the top parking lot. Doing so not only aggravates those following the rules but impacts the regular flow of traffic disrupting arrival. In a similar way, during dismissal, cars should back into the spaces on the top parking lot or wait in the carline in the middle lot. Parking in fire lanes, at the curb by the playground, and by the shop is not allowed. We do this for the safety of the children and to ensure a safe exchange of custody of the students.  

Additionally, all vehicles should exit via Amberly Way and the traffic light. Vehicles should not use the church entrance as an exit nor should vehicles cut in front of Cathedral in an effort to skip the car line to exit campus. We are grateful for those families who already follow these rules and ask those that are not in compliance to do so in an effort to keep the students, faculty, and staff safe as well as help promote a positive community culture.

Re-registration for the 2020-2021 school year is fast approaching. You will note that the Parent-Student Handbook states that the deadline for re-registration is January 1st. As we reflect on the timing of the re-registration immediately following Christmas, we realized that this might be difficult for many families. For this reason, we have moved there-registration deadline to February 1st. The other details remain the same.

Here is a summary of the re-registration timeline:
Re-register before February 1st: $300 per student (reflects a discounted $75 re-registration fee and $225 applied to tuition)
Re-register after February 1st: $325 per student ($100 re-registration fee and $225 applied to tuition) 

Next week we celebrate the Christmas season on Friday, December 20:
School Band Concert at 8:30am in the gym
Pre-First Christmas Pageant at 8:15am in the Undercroft
Classes having homeroom parties will be from 9am to 10am

Also on Friday, December 20th, the school will host the Christmas Convocation at 10:15am in the Cathedral. The program is expected to run for about an hour. All parents, grandparents, and visitors are welcome to attend. The program will also be webcast and recorded at - please feel free to share the link with those who are not able to attend in person. Afterward, students will return to school for dismissal at 11:50am.
