Notes from the Principal's Desk: THANK YOU!

It has certainly been a great school year! We would like to thank all of the parents, students, faculty, and staff who made the school year such a tremendous success. Summer work is included in reports cards, as well as on the school website. Theschool's summer office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8am until 1pm.

The end of the school year is often a time of change for schools, and Cathedral is no different. But rather than think of this time as the end of something we like to think of it as a time of new beginnings. Today at the Closing Liturgy, CASPA recognized several faculty and staff members who will be leaving Cathedral and beginning a new journey. I’d like to recognize these members of the Cathedral community here:

We thank Mrs. Scully, a Cathedral alumna, for her four years of service to theschool. Additionally, we thank Mrs. Kelly, also a Cathedral alumna, for her five years of service to the school. We express our gratitude to Mrs. Metzbower for her five years of service to the school. We also share our thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Landers, who has served the school community for over 20 years! Show them some love and see photos fromthe Mass here and here.

Below I share a note from Mrs. Metzbower:

Dear Parents and Students,

It is with a combination of sadness and excitement that I inform the school community that I have accepted a position as Assistant Principal at Immaculate Conception School. In July, I will be leaving the School of the Cathedral to begin in this new role.

I have been a part of the Cathedral family for 5 years - first in the classroom and most recently as the Middle School Dean. From my very first day at Cathedral, I was impressed by the warmth and openness of this community. It has been a privilege and honor to work here with such wonderful students, dedicated faculty and staff, and caring parents. Thank you for helping me to grow as an educator. I wish everyone all the best and look forward to hearing about the great things happening at Cathedral in the future.

Warmest Wishes,
Lisa Metzbower

To conclude, a prayer to go forward:

May God's blessing go with us today,
At the end of this school year we pray.
That you keep us safe and give us rest
So, we start again renewed and refreshed.
Full of health, full of fun
Ready to come and learn again.

May God's blessing go with us today,
As we begin our school holiday.
Give your peace and your joy,
To every girl and every boy.
Help the teachers to enjoy the break,
and prepare and plan for the new intake.

May God's blessings await us next year,
To embrace each new challenge without fear.
Fill this school with your love,
and guide our hearts from above.
Full of faith, full of hope,
full of joy, and full of love.

Amen.
