Sign up for the Mission Trip!
Dear Seventh and Eighth Grade Parents,
I am excited to announce the details of our annual Mission Trip. We will be going to Harrisburg, PA with YouthWorks during the week of June 24 to 29. Serving in Harrisburg provides abundant opportunities for our students to partner with local organizations to meet ongoing needs in the community. Some of these service opportunities will be:
- Minister to struggling families and community members by spending time with children at a local summer camp or visiting residents at local nursing homes.
- Assist the elderly with home repair projects, help paint homes in the community, or get your hands dirty by working in a community garden.
- Have the unique opportunity of seeing the cycle of food distribution from community gardens to local farm stands to packaging and organizing food bank deliveries.
There are spots still open for our trip in June, and sign up is now available here. We are hopeful that the entire class will take advantage of this formational opportunity which extends our Social Justice curriculum beyond the classroom and turns the learning into a hands on, practical experience. Your spot will be considered reserved after the first payment is received. Payment details can be found on the registration page.
Chaperones currently include Kim Burgos and Chris McCullough. We will need to have six total for the trip to Harrisburg. If you are interested in serving as a chaperone, please let me know.
I am very excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to see the amazing experience they have while in Harrisburg.
